Holly Fulton: A Century of Styles
Suzy Menkes at London Fashion Week: Day Three
23 Февраля 2015
Let’s party, like it’s 19-something: Flapper faces from the Roaring Twenties printed on a dress; a pattern of a cat from the Sixties; a pretty and drippy version of Art Deco re-visited by Biba in the early Seventies; an obscure TV show from the Eighties. Shall I go on and on like the Holly Fulton list of references?
All the designer needed to say was ‘Party Girls’, which seems to be a theme of London’s Autumn/Winter 2015 season. High marks to Holly for reigning in her addiction to crystal, for toning down loud prints in favour of flat flowers and for adding a couple of fluffy coats to her repertoire of skimpy dresses. Best look: a sophisticated whoosh of chiffon on the body above slim trousers.
