Prada's girls are naughty or nice and nothing in between
7 Октября 2015
“Are they good girls or bad girls?” I asked Miuccia Prada after a show of tailored coats, jackets and trousers worn by women who would stomp along in vividly coloured platform shoes or in flat pumps. Their walk was through silvered walls and arches, recalling Andy Warhol and his Factory.
“Half and half,” said the ever-enigmatic Prada about the characters on stage. Perhaps the good girls were the ones who wore narrow, sparkling tiaras — a minor trend of the season — and the bad ones those with the clunky shoes.
All the women seemed addicted to tailoring, even though some of the top coats were in light and airy tulle.
Prada seemed to be coasting along with the accessories: her much-copied fur stoles came out again in bright pastels, with a few swinging fur tails. Bags were python with washes of colour. The most decisive offering seemed to be the platform shoes, all dressed up with paint, pattern and glitter. But even those have been on Miu Miu’s catwalk before.
